I was just reading this article by Zane Abden over at Internet Bootcamp Profit. The articles offers an overview on how to do / learn some relatively cheap and effective Search Engine Optimization without going and spending $2000 on the newly released Perpetual Traffic Formula product.

I myself don’t know anything about Perpetual Traffic Formula yet so I cannot offer my opinion on this product, but Zane’s insights into SEO outlined in his blog post are definitely worth the read.

- Links.

- User Activity.

So you’ve heard about the internet. Fair enough, who hasn’t these days? I’m guessing you’ve also heard that the internet is a vast network connecting people to each other all around the world; and that its a pretty swanky place to make some money. This is true.

Welcome my friend. Riches await you! The internet is a gold mine of business opportunity. But you’re not going to get very far if you don’t have the right information and you don’t put in the hard yards.

Its a common misconception that you can just log on to the internet, slap up a website, chuck an ad or two on the website and watch the dollars roll in. I’m sorry, but this is pure make believe. Sure, making money on the internet is easier and can be less time consuming once you’ve started and have your systems in place, but to get to this stage in the game you need to put in a good deal of hard work and develop your business.

This is the first step. Before you even start to look at different ways to make money online you need get yourself in the right mindset and view the situation from the correct perspective.

In terms of mindset you need to be inspired, believe in what you are doing and enjoy it. If you have no passion for internet marketing and are just doing it for the money then STOP. You need to find something you are passionate about. Happiness, fulfillment and success come from the process NOT the end result. Understandably you probably don’t know too much about what internet marketing involves otherwise you would not be reading this. So keep on reading. Lets find out.

Secondly, in terms of perspective you need to view your endeavor into internet marketing as a business. If you are not going to take this seriously there is no point in continuing. The internet marketing game is a game of numbers. No its not full of maths, but it is intricate. You can be doing one little thing wrong and that will destroy your results. But on the flip side, if you get that one little thing right you could have a highly successful campaign.

It all comes down to dedication and inspiration, again these are aspects of your mindset. You really need to work out why you are doing this before you do it. If you’re having trouble working this out, as many people do, I suggest you turn to the techniques of Anthony Robbins. I can only teach you so much about mindset etc. Anthony Robbins is a master of the concept and helped me tremendously. He won’t be specifically talking about internet marketing, but he teaches success as a reaction. He teaches how to fundamentally program yourself for happiness and success which is helpful no matter what profession you choose. The most effective and enjoyable way for him to teach you is at his live event Unleash The Power Within. If you however can’t make it to one of these events I highly recommend his Multimedia Personal Coaching Collection which is much more affordable.

OK, Now you know you want do this, you have the right mindset and you know how to trigger it. You know you need to view this as a business not a little project if you want to make any serious money.

Getting Started in Internet Marketing Index

In the lull after the deadlines I’ve had some time to get reacquainted with the internet marketing world. I’ve been feeling a little bit despondent recently with some projects not being as successful or moving along as fast as first planned. I’m sure you know the feeling, even outside of online marketing. The feeling where you’ve worked hard at something, you’re proud of it but it hasn’t done what you intended.

This got me thinking. “How can I snap my self out of this mindset and fix the problems holding my projects back?” Of course, being in a lazy mood, my consumer mind shouted RETAIL THERAPY!!!! So thats what I did.

I scoured through vast quantities of different products, each detailing different aspects online money making. Emerging from the depths of the Internet Oceans and descending from the peaks of Online Mountains, I finally came to one product which looked professional, it claimed to contain the information I needed and on top of this it gave the impression that I would receive more than just the product. I would get great hassle free service and support. So what did I do? I bought it!

Pumped from the adrenaline of the marketing hype I filled in my name and credit card details, clicked the big red button that signified the point of no return and then fought my way bravely through the upsales. It was done, the product was bought.

I logged into the membership website to be greeted with a friendly, well laid out and clear front page. It told me exactly what to do. I started reading away, studying and making notes for easy recall. This product was fantastic. It had everything you need to get started and succeed, just like it said it would. This was great.

However, there was one problem and it was not with the product. The product delivered everything it said it would and more. After reading a few lessons I came to realise that all this material seemed quite familiar. I already knew a lot of it. Sure there was new information which was useful, but probably not enough to warrant me buying the product.

What I really needed was to recall what I have learnt in the past and act on it. That was it, ACTION!!! I needed to take action, and to do that I needed the right mindset. Buying that product did put me back in the right mindset, but there are other cheaper ways of achieving a productive mindset.

So as life is, I stated thinking of ways to metaphorically kick my self in the ass to ensure this productive mindset without buying things. I came to the conclusion that the easiest way is to keep your goals and dreams in focus. Know where you’re going. Know how what you are doing is contributing to you reaching your destination and let the prospects of progress and success inspire you to the next level. This is why goals are so important. They provide structure and direction, something your brain can understand and subconsciously process.

A good way to visualise and inspire yourself is to get a large sheet of paper, one of those massive ones like a poster. On another sheet of paper or your diary / journal, brainstorm what you want out of life: relationships, experiences, possessions, characteristics, travel, anything! Now go back to your MASSIVE poster paper. Go through magazines, the internet, travel brochures etc and find as many pictures that relate to what you wrote in your diary or that inspire you. Cut them out and stick them on your poster. When you’re finished stick this poster on the wall next to where you work. There you go! Instant Inspiration!

This may not work for you, but it works for me and I suspect we are the same on some level. What ever the case, there will be something out there that works for you. There is no exception. You just need to find it.

So in other words GET PUMPED! get PSYCHED! and go get those MILLION$
